The new category addition, Z(CF) commodity fumigation for private farmers will be required if the farmer is fumigating grain bins on their own property (separate from a commercial license to do so for others for a charge). This part of the private license is similar to the soil fumigation that many have for tobacco, sweet potato, or strawberry fumigation. This new category will require an additional one hour recertification class every three years.
It is an OPEN book test – but uses a DIFFERENT manual than the soil fumigation exam.
Commodity fumigation only exams are being offered at various locations throughout the state. The testing locations and dates are listed on the flyer. These sessions will include a presentation about the new requirements prior to the exam. Please bring a photo ID, $10 exam fee, and a calculator. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
