Urban Planning, Low Impact Development, and Stormwater Continuing Education Course for Real Estate Professionals Why Should I Come? NC is developing at an amazingly rapid rate. The rate of development, the places of development, and the design of development all have a tremendous impact on the economy of our state. Development affects real estate, consumers, and the environment. Additionally, cities and counties across the State of NC must manage rainfall that runs off roads, streets, and parking lots. This runoff is called stormwater. To manage stormwater many treatment devices have been created. You may have seen these as you have been driving in your community. These devices invariably affect real estate professionals and consumers alike. This training will address these and other water quality & drainage concerns affecting our state. Dwane Jones is a Faculty member of North Carolina State University and Cooperative Extension. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master's Degree in Environmental Planning, both from East Carolina University.
From 1999-2004 Dwane was employed with the Pitt County Planning Department as the Environmental Planner. For the past three years he has been teaching courses on Urban and Rural Planning, Low Impact Development, Conservation Design, Zoning, Stormwater Best Management Practices, and Water Quality for the University. |
